"I can't wait to get at all that new, different food," he said.
"I love food, about all kinds of food, and I eat more of it than any of my friends, even the big ones!"
Milliner is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and describes himself as "pretty skinny."
With all the planning and fundraising for the spring trip to London, Scotland and Ireland, plus the regular load of academics and band practice, Milliner says he has been too overwhelmed to think too much about a college.
"I know I want a smaller school, something like Transy (Transylvania) or Kentucky Wesleyan, where I can have more one-on-one work with teachers," he said.
Milliner has been involved in all the car washes, bake sales (do-nuts), even some photography sales to help pay for the trip.
An A and B student at Grayson County High School, Milliner finds his European History classes as the most interesting.
But, there's music, too. Milliner plays the trombone.
"I went to that beginning band class at Clarkson, and all these instruments were laying there on the table, and for some reason, I picked up the trombone."
"When I blew into it, it made a sound I'd never heard before, and this had a big, freaky impact on me," he said.
He has been carrying around a trombone ever since, "so music, if it's not my major will certainly be my minor in college."
He just applied for and got a music scholarship.
The fast pace of his last year at Grayson County High School seems to fit well with Milliner's life path so far.
"When there's a problem or I get into some kind of funk, I just get on my BMX bike and ride, either with friends or by myself, and the funky moods go away," he said.
He likes to get together with friends just for good talk and fun.
"Problems get a lot smaller a lot quicker if you get together with friends and talk," he said.
This is one reason Milliner wants to go to a smaller college, a better chance for the one-on-one he finds so helpful with teachers like Mr. Moudry or Ms. Higgs.
But, wherever Milliner chooses to go to college, he's likely to find something good about the place.
"I live my own life," he said, "and I let others live their's."
"I like new experiences," he said. "I'm always looking for those curves that life throws at you; I like to deal with new things."
Adam is the son of James Gary and Wanda Milliner of Clarkson.
"My parents are always there," he said. "They give me tons of things, they listen to me, and they push me to do better."
Milliner says he isn't "a model teen, the kind you see in movies, but I'm not involved in drugs or alcohol or any of that stuff."
"I try to see the good in everybody I meet," he said, "and I hope they do the same with me."
