In the opener, the freshman squad fought back to tie the game at 38-38 in regulation, but was outpointed in the overtime and fell 47-40.
In the JV contest, the Cougars gave up a seven-point halftime lead and dropped a 36-33 decision.
FRESHMEN
After a sluggish first half, the Cougars (10-2) came out firing in the second. Kyle Skaggs hit a pair of three pointers and Josh Smith added six of his own points as Grayson County cut an eight-point halftime deficit in half to trail 32-28 heading into the fourth quarter.
Skaggs' three-pointer with five seconds left in regulation tied the score at 38-38.
in the overtime, the Cougars fell behind early and could manage just two points in response.
JV GAME
After falling behind 7-0 in the early going, the Cougars (11-5) used an 11-0 run to grab the lead in the second period. They led by seven, 22-15, at the half.
Ohio County (12-2) used extreme defensive pressure in the third period to retake the lead.
The Cougars stayed in the game, but their inability to hit free throws cost them the game. In the second half, Grayson County went to the line 10 times, but hit just two shots. Twice they missed front ends of bonus situations.
Chase Richardson scored 10 points to lead the Cougar effort.
