Sports reporter, Don Brown, was sick and unable to attend games on Friday or Monday night.
According to Coach Roy King, the game was a big win against a quality team in a hostile environment.
"Good defense is carrying the team," King said, "and Monday night the girls were shooting well, over 50 percent.
"We have found a way to win," King said.
Four Lady Cougars stepped into double figure scoring: Tiffany Clemons had 12 points, Brittany Bird and Lee Ann Wood had 11 and Molly Beeler had 10 points.
The girls took a quick 11 point lead in the first half and in the last half led by as much as 13.
The girls made a few mistakes and let the Raiders get some shots which closed the gap and let Whitesville get within a few points in the last minutes of the game.
The Lady Cougars went to the wire and pulled out the win.
This win comes at a good time for the Lady Cougars. After playing well but losing to Owensboro in the last few minutes of that game, the girls' morale and confidence has been boosted.
"We proved we can win against a quality team and we feel that we can play with anybody," King said.
King said the girls played a balanced game and showed how far they have come in the last year.
