A news release out of Lexington said the Kentucky FSA will consolidate its farm credit teams from 26 to 18, with each team covering a slightly larger region of the state.
However, Jim Thomason, director of the Leitchfield FSA Office, said his office is concerned mostly with farm production, and "we will remain open with the same people."
The change in credit teams, he said, means that farm loan customers in Grayson County will have their loans reassigned to the Breckinridge County Credit Team in Hardinsburg.
Each team will have a larger staff, Jeffery S. Hall, state executive director of FSA, said, "but each team will serve a larger area."
Loan specialists will schedule office hours at local FSA offices, he said. he said.help with loan paperwork, he said.
