It's happening at LEITCHFIELD HEALTH CARE MANOR
We are now going into a new year 2004. Everyone enjoyed the open house on Dec. 7th. Everyone was happy to see the board members and their family and friends that visited and helped celebrate the 30 years of service of Leitchfield Health Care Manor.
The residents enjoyed the Christmas party and Santa Claus. Thanks to the family members, groups and employees for the gifts for the residents.
Thanks to Chaplain Dave Ondreyka for singing Christmas carols at the party. We want to thank all the group singers. Grayson County Middle School 6th grade band for playing for the residents after the Christmas parade. Wilkey, Lawler, and Clarkson kindergarten classes, and the Parent Child Center who sung and brought cards; Sister Ruth Mattingly and St. Joseph Church who brought gifts; Church of Joy for the gifts; Clarkson Baptist Church for all they do.
Thanks to Yeaman and Lone Star Church of Christ for the McDonald's hamburgers, they were delicious. Residents really enjoyed the burgers.
MTD visited and brought gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Santa came and visited each resident. Also Campbell Hausfeld passed out gifts.
Thanks to the Cooper girls for the food for the party and visits; Brian Hensley for his help in the Christmas parade; Charles and Ruth Hart for their donation.
New Freedom Church, the Decker family, Clearview Church, Hanging Rock Church, and Oak Grove Youth group came and sung Christmas carols. "Karoake and Me" entertained for the residents. Cedar Springs Meninites sung Christmas carols.
Rough River Ladies Auxiliary came and had a party of cakes, cookies, candy and punch. The residents really did enjoy the party.
Thanks to the American Legion for the donation. It will be used for the porch. Our goal is to get a front porch built for the residents to sit on this summer.
I want to thank the volunteers, Iva Day, Mildred McDaniel, Sister Ruth Mattingly, and Helen Swift (hope you are improving ), and George Lindsey for the good job they do.
Thanks to Susan Lindsey for the good job she is doing while I am off sick. Thanks to all the employees for helping out while I am off and thanks for the PDO's - you all are great.
The upcoming activity for the month of February is a Valentine's party on Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. King and Queen Valentine for 2004 will be chosen by the most votes. Everyone has a chance to be king and queen, it doesn't matter if they have won in the past. If you want your favorite person to win, cast your vote and put it in the box. The votes will be counted the day of the party. Proceeds go toward the front porch.
We want to welcome Janet Styles to the Dietary Supervisor job. She is doing great.
Our sympathy goes to the family of Audrey Lambert. She will be missed.
We want to thank all your family members that come and help out with your loved ones. It is very helpful.

Justin is one of Kentucky's waiting children
Justin has siblings he would like to continue visiting. He needs a family with positive, stable role models in the home. A family would have to be comfortable in advocating for and working with school professionals, as school will remain a challenge for Justin. A family would have to be up to the challenge of working with his delays and help keep him busy and directed on something positive to do. Also, he will test a new family to see if you are really committed to him. A family will require patience, consistency, supervision and structure, as well as lots of love and nurturing. He's going to do great things, states his foster mom. Are you the family to help Justin achieve those great things?
