Editor:

I live in the same community as Kelly Thompson and John Minton, the two candidates running for Kentucky Court of appeals.

I want to alert the fine citizens surrounding our community about these two candidates so you will feel good about your vote come Nov. 4.

John Minton is our circuit judge and if he was to win this election, we would lose him. The new governor would then have to appoint our community a new judge.

We don't need this, especially right now, with our dockets so overloaded. In truth, we need John Minton here.

Kelly Thompson is more than qualified for this seat, and he has double the experience. Most importantly, Kelly Thompson will not leave us in a bad position when he becomes the next appeals judge.

If John Minton was to become the next appeals judge, our community would be losing a judge. God knows, our community doesn't need that now.

If Kelly Thompson became the next appeals judge, he will be adding to both communities and no one will lose anything.

Please think about us all as a whole and vote Kelly Thompson for our next appeals judge. -- Mary E. Lewis, Bowling Green
