A one vehicle accident on Post Tousey Road in Caneyville left two Elizabethtown natives seriously injured.

Mike Patterson and Robert Ross, both of E-town, were making a delivery for Lowes when the truck left the road on a high embankment and hit a tree.

The truck was stuck between the tree and the high ditch. It took joined efforts from Falls of Rough and Caneyville fire departments and two sets of Jaws of Life and several hours to free the men trapped inside.

Grayson County EMS transported the men to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center and they were later transported to University Hospital in Louisville.

Sheriff's Officer Jeff King is investigating the accident to determine the cause. He was assisted at the scene by Constable Gary Dennis.

As of Tuesday, Sept. 2 Patterson was listed in stable condition.
