The council reccommended Ronnie Sarver for the position.
The new principal was announced at 3:30 p.m., Friday. Superintendent Teddy White will complete the hiring process and inform the school board.
Caneyville Elementary School started the year with interum principal, Jim Purcell, after Mic Huffman was accepted for the position of high school principal.
Sarver will be tying up loose ends in Tennessee before taking the position at Caneyville. As of press time the official date had not been set.
