Virginia Lee "Virgie" Roberts Lewis, age 86, of Cecilia, Kentucky, a former resident of South Shore, Kentucky, Greenup Co., died on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, as the daughter of the late Martin Preston Roberts and Sarah Elizabeth Crum Roberts. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Sand Hill Church of Christ in South Shore and a Homemaker.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirlene Lewis Hannah.
She is survived by her husband, Edward W. Lewis of Cecilia; one son, Congressman Ron Lewis of Cecilia; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 6, 2003 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore.
"I appreciate the support expressed by friends during this time," said Representative Lewis. "My family and I are grateful for their prayers and kind words."
