A pregnant 20-year-old Big Clifty woman was killed Friday (6/6) in a one-vehicle accident at Summit. Her unborn child also did not survive.

Kentucky State Police reported Jessica Dawn Darnell, 1390 Hardin Springs Road, was driving east on US 62 when she lost control of the car.

Trooper Pete Brinkley said Darnell apparently ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, overturned, then recrossed the road and struck another embankment. Darnell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner, he said.

Brinkely's report said there was no sign of alcohol, but the seatbelt was not being used. He said Darnell was partially ejected from the car.

The accident occurred at 8:13 p.m.
