As part of transition from fifth-grade to sixth-grade, GCMS counselors hosted all elementary school fifth-grades to orientation activities at the middle school.

Students watched a Power Point presentation which highlighted different areas of the school and were led by middle school students.

They were treated to refreshments and given the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about coming to middle school.

Students were given folders containing information about summer transition activities, including a sixth-grade cookout and back-to-school night.

These activities are all part of the district-wide consolidated plan to better transition students from one school to another.
