The Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety evaluations on roadways in all eight Post 4 counties during the next month. Troopers will be conducting safety checkpoints on various roadways in Breckinridge, Bullitt, Grayson, Hardin, Jefferson, LaRue, Meade and Nelson counties most often during weekend nights when impaired driving traffic is at a maximum. Officers may also initiate checkpoints at other times during the week.

The primary focus of these safety checks will be to reduce the incidence of drug and alcohol impaired drivers, however, officers will also be emphasizing the use of child safety seats and seat belts.

Motorists can expect to see increased traffic enforcement patrols in the north central Kentucky area.
