Larry, age 52, and Nora Hack Smiddy, age 68, were arrested after the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at their 410 Johnson Street residence in Leitchfield.
Two arrest warrants were also served on Nora for trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree (Oxycontin). These had been obtained by members of the task force for sales of the drug before the search of the residence.
The search turned up numerous pain killer type drugs including; oxycontin, morphine, hydro-codone, percocet and many others. Some prescription bottles were also found in the home that did not contain the prescribed medicine, or have either one of the residents names on the bottles. Many of the bottles had no label at all.
The search was aided by Leitchfield City Police officers the Grayson County Sheriff's department and Task Force members.
Both Larry and Nora were arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, (Oxycontin) and prescription drugs in improper container. Other charges are forthcoming, but as of press time Friday they haven't been disclosed.
