GCSO makes Parkway safer

LEITCHFIELD -- Grayson County Chief Deputy Ernie Steff reports that there were no fatal accidents on the Western Kentucky Parkway over the Labor Day holidays starting Friday, August 30th and running through Monday, September 1st, 2002.

"The deputies worked on a Federal Overtime Grant to help patrol the Parkway and slow drivers down," said Sheriff Joe Brad Hudson. He and Steff reported that 116 citations were issued on the WK Parkway over the holiday time period.

There was one fatality reported in the COunty; a Louisville man, James Thomas Bloyd, age 34, died of head injuries after an ATV accident Saturday, August 31st, 2002.
