WAX -- According to a report received from the Grayson County Sheriff's Department, Sheriff's deputy D.R. "Sonny" Poteet responded to what was thought to be a motorist assist around 6:18 a.m. Tuesday, August 13th at a bridge over the Nolin Lake near the Wax marina.

Along with deputy Poteet, members of the Wax Fire Department, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Grayson County Deputy Coroner Ronald Hudson also responded to the scene.

On arrival Poteet discovered the body of Donald E. Vlasak, age 78, of Munfordville, floating in the waters of Nolin Lake. The man's wallet and false teeth were found in the 1986 Ford parked on the bridge.

"The vehicle was not on the bridge at 5:15, but was there at 5:45," said Poteet. Deputy Coroner Hudson stated the time of death was approximately 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 13th. He also stated the death was an apparent suicide, but the investigation is ongoing.
