PEONIA -- Last weekend was a busy one in Peonia. The Knights of Columbus held their annual community cookout and the Peonia Picnic gave everyone a reason to smile.

Every year the Knights of Columbus host a free cookout for the community to gather, socialize, eat and enjoy. The Friday night event kicks off the Peonia Picnic on Saturday.

The picnic was a big success with a huge crowd to enjoy the various types of fun. There were cake walks, face painting, ring toss, duck pond, and lots of prize booths.

Lots of people enjoyed bingo games with caller, Leo Mudd. Big raffle items included a Gateway computer, $300 and $200 cash prizes.

For supper there was chicken and mutton and homemade ice cream for desert.

The kids had a great time and the day was beautiful for the picnic.
