Free courtesy boat inspection dates set for Rough River Lake and Nolin River Lake

GRAYSON COUNTY -- Park Ranger Amanda Patrick, of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, has announced dates for free courtesy boat inspections at both Rough River Lake and Nolin River Lake.

"The Corps, Park Rangers and Department of Fish and Wildlife officers will provide the free inspections on Nolin at the Wax boat ramp on Sunday, May 19th. The inspections will begin at 8:00 a.m. and run until 12:30 p.m."

The inspections are a part of this year's North American Safe Boating Campaign. Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Boating Officers and Corps Rangers will be on hand to check vessels for safety compliance and to answer questions concerning state boating laws and regulations, such as Kentucky life jacket requirements, state educational requirements and licensing regulations.

The officers conducting the safety checks will have informational brochures, stickers and coloring books available at the check stations. For more information on Nolin Lake activities contact Amanda Patrick at 1-270-286-4511.

The Rough River Lake safety checks will be conducted at the State Park boat ramp on Saturday, May 18th from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. On Sunday. Also, on Sunday, May 19th, the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla #44, of Evansville, will be on hand at Rough River Lake State Park boat ramp from 11:00a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for inspections that day.
