LEITCHFIELD -- Leitchfield City Police detective Gary Troutman reports that two tractor-trailers were taken from the Fleming Foods location (formerly Miller & Hartman) on Salt River Road.

Officers David Riley and Stevie Miller are investigating the thefts, stated Troutman. The vehicles were apparently taken on March 8th around midnight added Troutman. They were reportedly loaded with grocery items and cigarettes.

A 2000 Mack tractor and trailer has been recovered from the Bluegrass Parkway east of Elizabethtown. The truck had been abandoned along the roadway. "Cigarettes appear to all that were taken from its load," stated Troutman.

The other tractor, license number 9MS814, is also a 2000 Mack with a 28foot, refrigerated trailer. The trailer is a yellow, 1994 Great Dane, with North Carolina tag number L803708.

If anyone has information about the location of the vehicle, or the thefts of the vehicles, they are urged to contact the Leitchfield Police Department at 1-270-259-3850. All calls remain confidential.
