GCSO makes arrest for, methamphetamine, burglary, and forgery

GRAYSON COUNTY -- The Grayson County Sheriff's Office has been extremely busy over the past weeks.

It has been involved with the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force in a joint effort trying to combat the threat of clandestine methamphetamine laboratories in the area.

GCSO Detective Tony Willen, Sheriff Joe Brad Hudson and Task Force members joined forces and started an investigation that led to the arrest of Jerry Potts, age 38, of Caneyville, on March 10th.

Potts was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Detective Willen and Sheriff Hudson executed a search warrant at a residence located at 3069 Shaw Creek Road, Clarkson, on February 28th.

Information obtained during the search resulted in an arrest warrant being obtained for Richard Hazlewood, age 19, of Clarkson. Hazlewood faces charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.

He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Detective Willen also stated he has made an arrest pertaining to the theft of checks belonging to State Senator Virgil Moore.

Robert Lee Langston, age 23, of Clarkson, has been charged with two counts of burglary third degree, two counts of forgery second degree, and three counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument second degree.

The burglaries occurred between the 19th of February and March 4th 2002.. A book of checks belonging to Moore were taken and two checks were cashed for a total of$170. Langston was in possession of three additional checks that had Moore's name forged on them.
