Clarkson City Council met in regular session on Thursday, February 21 to discuss several business matters. With the absence of Mayor Hodges, Bonnie Henderson led the four members of the council through the nights business.

The Council stepped into executive session to discuss applicants for the position of Park and Recreation Manager.

Applications for the position had been accepted and after reading through the forms the executive group decided to hire Neil Crawford. The position's salary was dependent on experience and ability and was set for $5000 which would be paid half at mid-season and half at the end of the season.

Other business about the park came up during the meeting. In the reading of previous minutes the council decided to spend $500 on moving lights from the school to the park.

The money came from the Chamber of Commerce's $1500 donation to Grayson County Parks in honor of Ed Glasscock. The award was presented to Mr. Glasscock at the Annual Chamber Dinner and was divided between the county ball parks.

The Clarkson Council also approved the addition of a back stop in the third ball field of the park. With the addition of the screen the field would be ready to use this season.

In other business council members voted to fund half the price of an air compressor for the Clarkson City Fire Department. The compressor would be available to both the fire department and the city.
