Robert (Buster) Swift, 79, of Falls of Rough, died on Friday, February 8, 2002 at the Bowling Green Medical Center.

He was born on February 18, 1922 as the son of Marvin and Fannie Beasley Swift in Muhlenburg County.

He was a retired self-employed construction company owner, and a member of the Smalls Grove Church in Caneyville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Marie and one grandson, Dwayne Swift.

He is survived by three sons, Jimmy Swift of Caneyville, Raymond Swift of Fairdale and Bobby Swift of Short Creek; two daughters, Charlotte Escue and Sherry Pence, both of Short Creek; one brother, R.L. Swift of Caneyville; two sisters, Marcella Cummings and Gaynell Taylor both of Caneyville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 11, 2002 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Rev. Randall Deweese officiating.

Burial was in the Layman Memorial Cemetery.
