Clarkson -- A joint investigation by the Clarkson Police Department and the Grayson County Sheriff's Department has resulted in the arrest of a Clarkson woman.

Carol Preston, age 56, of Clarkson, was arrested and charged with Unlawful access to a computer first degree, a class C felony.

Clarkson policeman Shawn Lee and Sheriff's detective Tony Willen gathered information through the investigation that Preston was purchasing items through the internet with other peoples credit card numbers, without their consent. The known victims have yet to be located, stated Willen.

The investigation came to a head when two of the victims called to report unauthorized charges on their credit cards. The items ordered were delivered to a Clarkson address. As of Friday there were over a dozen victims identified.

Willen and Lee obtained a search warrant for the address at 308 South Patterson Street in Clarkson. Both property and receipts were recovered at the residence.

Willen advises all card holders to immediately contact card companies and law enforcement of any unauthorized charges made to their credit cards.
