LEITCHFIELD--QPI/Radio Shack in Leitchfield receive several prestigious awards at the Radio Shack Showcase in August. The Showcase is an opportunity for Radio Shack franchises in the north and south eastern parts of the U.S.A. to view and order new products for the Christmas season. An awards ceremony is also held to recognize the top franchises in the area. QPI/Radio Shack received two awards, the Circle of Excellence and the Silver Level Award.

The Circle of Excellence was awarded to only 10-15% of the stores. The award is based on a monthly sales flyer program where stores order items that are featured in the sales flyers and for the individual stores advertising excellence.

The Silver Level award is based on sales. The year before QPI/Radio Shack did not rank but this year they skipped the Bronze Level and brought home the Silver. The awards are ranked by bronze, silver, gold, platinum, platinum plus and diamond.

Currently there are only two or three stores that hold the diamond ranking and very rarely do any stores skip a level. QPI/Radio Shack has shown a tremendous increase in business since last summer.

One reason for that increase is new manager Laura Witten. When she took over the store doubled in size and sales went up 300%. Witten is originally from Cookville, Tennessee. She attended college at Western Kentucky University where she met Grayson County native Aaron Witten. The two married and returned to Leitchfield.

Since Witten's introduction as manager of QPI/Radio Shack this year's sales are up 272% over last year's. The store has been stocked with many new items including big screen/high definition televisions, a larger stock of various types of computers, DVD players, surround systems and keyboard. QPI/Radio Shack is the only store in town to have a big screen/high definition television on display for the customers to check out.

Aaron Witten says, "numbers have gone through the roof," with the help of Laura, "if you haven't been in (the store) in a while you wouldn't recognize the store now."

Laura Witten is ready to give the citizens of Grayson County yet another tremendous opportunity to provide the latest electronic gadgets for their loved ones at Christmas. The store stocked to overflowing with toys, televisions, computers, karaoke machines, and DVD players and many, many other items. They have almost everything electronic and can order everything.

QPI/Radio Shack offers Direct TV systems for $30. They have plans to help expand local businesses with wireless internet service soon. The wireless service will provide faster service with better connections. They are also hoping to hire a licensed computer technician to help provide better service to their customers.

QPI/Radio Shack hopes to serve the Grayson County area for all their electronic needs so stop in today and see their selection. They are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. These hours will be extended in November to accommodate Christmas shoppers.
