LAC awarded APWA Project of the Year

Leitchfield Aquatic Center (LAC) received the American Public Works Association (APWA) Kentucky Chapter’s Project of the Year (Recreation Category) award last week.Leitchfield Tourism Director Ilsa Johnson presented the award for Project of the Year during the regularly scheduled Monday, Oct. 20 Leitchfield City Council meeting.The award was given to the City of Leitchfield during the APWA Kentucky Chapter’s annual conference in Owensboro on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and it will be displayed inside Leitchfield City Hall.Nominations for APWA Kentucky Chapter awards came from Public Works officials from city and county government agencies across the state, according to Leitchfield Public Works Director/Zoning Administrator Sheila Puckett.


Bank robbery suspects in custody
