Board talks school bus tracking system

Grayson County Schools may soon purchase a GPS system to track its school buses.GC Schools Director of Transportation Arnold Hack discussed tracking software to be placed on the buses and its capabilities during the regularly scheduled Thursday, April 17 School Board meeting.Hack said his main concern when he starts his work day each morning is he cannot follow every school bus driver’s route to observe how he or she drives, but if the school board approves the purchase of the tracking software, he’ll be able to do just that.The system will allow the transportation department to observe the buses on a map and see every move the drivers make.

 

Cougars hold on for 5-4 win at Whitesville

Though they had to hold on by the skin of their teeth, the Cougar softball team made it 10 wins in a row with a 5-4 district win at Whitesville Trinity Wednesday evening.In the second game of the evening, Trinity eked out a 1-0 win over the Cougar JV squad in five innings.Freshman Lauren Decker pitched all seven innings for the Cougar varsity to pick up the win. Meth trafficker arrested in Leitchfield

A Leitchfield man was arrested Tuesday evening for trafficking in methamphetamine and other charges.The arrest came as the result of a multi-agency effort between the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Leitchfield Police Department, and the Greater Hardin County Drug Task Force, according to Deputy Buck Meredith, who served as the lead officer.Meredith said that Steven Eugene Bertram, age 49, was arrested at a residence on Shull White Road where he was residing with ...
