Feeding America visits GC Food Pantry

Approximately 170 local families received fresh produce on Thursday, July 10 when Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland visited the Grayson County Food Pantry to donate farmed food to families in need.Executive Director of Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland Gary Miles said the organization is taking its mobile food bank on the road this summer and fall to distribute produce to food pantries throughout its 42-county service area.This effort has been funded by the Farms to Food Bank Bill, which provides $1.2 million to the State Association of Food Banks to be used over two years for the purchase of farmed foods for the needy.
