A Grayson County man has been arrested on charges of rape, sodomy and sexual abuse. According to the Breckenridge County Circuit Court Clerk’s office, 51-year-old William Tad Lainhart, of Falls of Rough, is being charged with five counts of sodomy in the second degree, four counts of rape in the first degree, and one count of sexual abuse in the first degree of a child under the age of 12. Authorities are asking for help in identifying a man who they believe robbed banks in both Buffalo and Sonora. The Cecilian Bank in Sonora was robbed on Tuesday afternoon, February 12, just before closing. On January 22, 64-year-old Leitchfield resident Russell Mercer was sentenced to ten years in prison for arson and insurance fraud. According to a press release, on November 10, 2010, Mercer had hired his ex-brother-in-law Tom Lashley, 46, to burn some property, after which the two men would share the insurance money. The Grayson County Historical Society was recently able to refurbish three historical site markers within the county through private donations and a Kentucky Historical Society program which covers 20 percent of the cost for each marker.
