To help boost sales for businesses in Grayson County and surrounding areas, Wilson & Muir Bank (WMB) will host its first annual Spring Fling on Friday, May 3.

The Spring Fling will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at WMB’s Main Leitchfield Branch on Main Street and will highlight local businesses whose products fall in line with spring activities, such as yard work, gardening, and cooking out, according to WMB Loan Officer Billy Johnston.

The Spring Fling will be set up in the side and back parking lots of the WMB main branch, and participating businesses will have a representative in attendance to set up a booth and display and sell their products, Johnston said.

In addition, WMB will provide food cooked by Foster’s Propane, and several businesses will be giving away prizes throughout the day, Johnston said.

Johnston said the Spring Fling is the result of a joint effort by employees from all three Grayson County WMB locations—Leitchfield, Highway 62, and Big Clifty.

“Around the first of the year, we started brainstorming ways to boost local businesses,” Johnston said. “Local businesses are very important, and with [the Leitchfield WMB branch’s] visibility, we think the Spring Fling will give people a chance to see a business they might not have seen otherwise.”

Businesses who have committed to attending include Big Clifty Service and Supply, Darrell’s Lawn & Landscape, Fosters Propane, Hobdy Dye & Read, Joe’s Lawn & Garden, Kiper Yamaha, Lindsey’s House of Plants, Pine View Nursery, Three Springs Farm, Vanmeter Family Farm, and Wright Implement.

“Depending on how well the Spring Fling goes, we hope to be able to do similar, themed events in the future,” said Johnston, who encourages any other local businesses with ideas for future events to contact him via either e-mail at wejohnston@wilsonmuirbank.com or phone at 270-259-4001.
