Authorities are asking for help in identifying a man who they believe robbed banks in both Buffalo and Sonora.
The Cecilian Bank in Sonora was robbed on Tuesday afternoon, February 12, just before closing. Just over two weeks later, The Bank of Buffalo, in Buffalo, was held up just before noon on Wednesday, February 27.
Kentucky State Police Master Trooper Norman Chaffins released two photos, one taken on surveillance cameras at each of the banks, and said that officials believe both of the photos to be of the same suspect.
He is described as being approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. A witness identified him as having dirty blonde hair and facial hair.
The suspect is believed to have been driving a black 1990’s-style Chevrolet S-10 with lightly tinted windows and a blue sticker on the left side of the back window. The vehicle had a chrome grill with the gold Chevrolet emblem on it.
Officers believe the suspect may have been in the area the day before at least one of the robberies to ‘case’ the bank.
