Caneyville Milling presented local 4-H and FFA groups with checks for $835 each on Wednesday, making good on their promise to donate $1 for every ton of feed sold in Grayson County between January 15 and April 15.
The company’s General Manager, Wesley Parks, presented the checks. He said of the company’s decision to donate to these groups of agriculturally-minded students, “We are a farm store - feed, fencing, gates - and without future farmers, our business would probably go away.”
Parks also explained that both groups are near and dear to the hearts of the company’s owners, Bill Haubner and Dennis Tauchen. “One of our owners was in 4-H all through school, and the other was in FFA and was the president and a very active leader in the organization.”
The company was so excited about this opportunity to give to these groups that they have decided to it again. For every ton of feed sold between April 16 and July 16, Caneyville Milling will again donate $1 each to FFA and 4-H.
