Thanks to a cleverly-placed hidden camera, two suspected burglars are behind bars.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Department was alerted to a home invasion which occurred on November 13 on Old Fat Bruce Road in the Short Creek area of Grayson County.

According to Detective Jeff Kelsey, the homeowner, Marion Harris, had a camera recording at his property at the time of the incident and caught a male and female on tape removing items from his home. Electronics and other items were taken from the property.

The images recorded by Harris’ camera were used by law enforcement officers to help identify the thieves.

After identifying two suspects, Kelsey issued warrants for their arrest, and Deputies Joey Beasley and Bryan Hammons arrested Andrew Gibson, 33, and Lori Pawley, 34, on suspicion of committing the crime.

Officers interviewed the suspects following the arrest, at which time Gibson told them the whereabouts of some of the items stolen from the Harris residence.

A search warrant was issued for an apartment on North Patterson Street in Clarkson, where officers found the stolen items along with other “items of interest,” on November 24, Kelsey said.

Both Gibson and Pawley were booked on two felony chargees, second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking, and one misdemeanor charge, third-degree criminal mischief.

They are currently lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Detective Kelsey asks that anyone with information pertinent to this case please contact the Sheriff’s Department by calling 259-3024 or the anonymous hotline at 270-200-2222.
