Fall Business Expo free to public
by Brittany Wise

The Grayson County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for their 2012 Fall Business Expo, which is slated for Thursday evening, October 18, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The event, which is free to the public, gives local businesses an opportunity to showcase their goods and services as well as to make important connections with the public and other businesses.

Those wishing to stop by and see what local commerce has to offer can expect to see a wide variety of items and services represented and are welcome to sign up for one of the many giveaways throughout the night.

According to Director Tara Elder, there will be “everything from insurance to crafts, a pumpkin patch, banks, retail, and employment” represented.

MTD will have a booth where prospective employees can fill out an application and talk with HR representatives. Also, Advantage Staffing and Omni Staffing will be present to assist job-seekers. Some local banks will host booths to answer questions from current and potential patrons. Local retail businesses like Whoop-De-Doo and Caught Ya Lookin’ will be present with a sampling of their goods, and a festive fall farm will beshowing off their pumpkins and even giving a few away.

While 36 booths were originally up for grabs, they have all been sold out and an extra booth has been added in, according to Elder.

Each business’ booth will be giving away a door prize during the event, with an average of more than 12 giveaways being handed out each hour to attendees. This gives those in attendance excellent odds of taking home a great prize from one of the local vendors.

Anyone with questions about the free event can contact the Chamber of Commerce at 259-5587 or email them at graysoncountychamber@gmail.com.
