Cova R. Dennison, 94, of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Heritage Health in Bloomington.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Brian Brotherton will officiate. Interment will follow services at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.

She was born April 29, 1918 in Leitchfield, KY, daughter of Lawrence and Lena Quiggins Langdon. Cova’s mother died from tuberculosis when she was five years old. Cova married Charles W. Dennison on February 15, 1941 in Leitchfield, KY before settling in Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her father and step-mother, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors are her brothers, George (Mary) Langdon, Leitchfield, KY, Murrell (Edith) Langdon, Louisville, KY; her sister, Sarah Jane Symms, Elizabethtown, KY; sisters-in-law, Doris Grant, Marie Langdon and Barbara McClure, all of Leitchfield, KY and a brother-in-law, W.C. (Lucy) Dennison, Frederick, MD.

Also surviving are nieces, Barbara Crabtree, Normal and Betty Vandegraft, Bloomington; nephews, John (Effie) Dennison, Normal and Don (Phyllis) Dennison, Findley, OH. There are many other nieces, nephews, great and great-great in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Kentucky and Washington D.C.

Cova lived and helped on the farm with Charles in Shirley, Fisher, Towanda and Gibson City areas, later moving to Bloomington. A farming accident in 1950 mangled her right arm, changing her life. Cova worked for Brokaw Hospital in Normal for 11 years, retiring in 1979.

She attended Grace Church with her husband for many years.
