A Caneyville man wrapped his car around a tree at 10000 Owensboro Road on Friday, March 1, according to a Grayson County Sheriff’s Department accident report.

At 3:46 p.m., 41-year-old Benjamine Browne was travelling on Owensboro Road when he arrived at the top of a hill and the back tires of the 1996 Cadillac Eldorado, which he was driving, started to come around, according to the accident report.

The report read the roadway was slippery and it was snowing at the time of the accident, and Brown told police he had tried to steer the vehicle, which was registered to Lana Brown, out of the spin but was unable. The vehicle then dropped off the right shoulder of the road and came back on the roadway, according to the report.

Brown appeared to have overcorrected and then spun halfway around in the road before going off an earth embankment, the report read. The car then struck a tree on the west bound side of the road and came to a rest.

Grayson County EMS provided first aid to Browne, who was then taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center to be treated for multiple possible injuries, according to the report.
