Arthur N. Coates, 74, of Salem, Indiana passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at his home in Salem.

He was born in Leitchfield, Kentucky, the son of Lawrence and Rosaline Gideon Coates. He was a U. S. Army Veteran, having served from January 1956 to january 1960.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lawrence David Coates.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Launett Petry Coates; two sons, Arthur, Jr and Gary (Beth); two brothers, Arnold and Ronald Coates (Jean); one sister, Delores Coates Harrell (Carter); two grandchildren, Izabella and Andrew; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Friday, February 15, 2013 at Seabrook Dieckman & Naville, New Albany, Indiana. Pastor Jon Talbott officiated. Interment was in Indian Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
