A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of the William Thomason Byway and US 62 Wednesday, October 7, sent Leitchfield woman to a Louisville hospital.

According to a report by Leitchfield Police Officer Braxton Allen, Katelyn Kerr, 17, of Cub Run was driving a green Jeep Cherokee east bound on US 62 and failed to stop at the red light.

The Jeep collided with a Ford Focus driven by Beth Tucker, 27, of Leitchfield, who was headed north on the byway and attempting to make a left turn onto US 62.

Kerr stated she had been unable to see the red light because the sun was setting, reported Allen.

The Leitchfield Fire Department was called to the scene and remove Tucker from the Focus and Grayson County EMS transported her to Twin Lakes Regional Medical landing pad. She was stat-flighted to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.

Neither Kerr nor her passenger, Mariah Gardner, 16, of Horse Cave, was injured in the accident.
