I graduated Leitchfield High School in 1960, received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky in 1968, and served in the United States Marine Corp from 1960-1964.
I was first elected to city council in November 1981 and became mayor on April 1, 1995. Having served as the mayor for 15 years, it is my goal to continue to provide quality services to our citizens that they have come to enjoy and rely on to feel safe and secure. The residents of Leitchfield and our employees are experiencing the effects of our recent economy downturn and it is my firm belief that the City of Leitchfield should continue to promote growth and help our local businesses remain strong and true. I will continue to vitalize our city by researching new avenues of growth and services.
The most important issues our community is currently facing are jobs and community awareness and involvement. There is a serious need for jobs in our community. It is my goal and commitment to the community to attempt to attract a diversity of jobs in order to provide job security and a healthy economy.
