Grayson County High School freshman softball coach Don Logsdon has announced tryouts will be held for the 2008 Summer Middle School team.

Those eligible for the team are players who are currently in grades 5 through 8. Weather permitting, the tryouts will be held at the high school field on Friday evening, May 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, May 24, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

These tryouts are not for the high school team, just for the summer league team. High School tryouts will be held in July.

The summer league team will play one game each week at Elizabethtown High School. It will also play double-headers at Grayson County High on June 3, 10 and 17, July 17 and at Edmonson County High on July 10.

There will be approximately 16 games against teams from Edmonson County, Butler County, Apollo, Muhlenberg North and the Elizabethtown area schools.

All players trying out for the team will have to have had a physical beforehand. Parents will be responsible for getting the players to and from games and will be asked to help out at the home games. There will be no cost to participate on the team.
