Rev. Winford Smith, age 92 of Munfordville, passed away at 8 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at his home.

He was the son of the late Thurman and Russie Fletcher Smith. He was a heavy equipment operator, a member of the Cane Run Baptist Church and was an ordained Missionary Baptist Minister, having pastored churches throughout Kentucky and in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years Ora Powell Smith; three daughters, Mattie Hughes (J. C.) of Bowling Green, Freda Regan (Bill), of Clarkson, and Nadine Vincent (Ben), of Cub Run; three sons, Tom Smith (Judy), and Marion Smith (Linda), both of Munfordville, and Ricky Smith (Loretta), of Center; one sister, Marcella Smith, of Munfordville; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 31, 2010 in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home in Munfordville, with Bros. Jack Srygler and Lendall Shirley officiating. Burial was in the Cane Run Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cane Run Cemetery, or the Old Dorsey Chapel Cemetery.
