The Leitchfield Police Department is investigating a $10,000 bank deposit that was allegedly stolen from Bluegrass Cellular, a major retailer in town.

Detective Gary Troutman explained that officers received a call on November 9 of a theft at the business, located on South Main Street.

Dispatch had initially reported that a $10,000 deposit was stolen, but Troutman would neither confirm nor deny the amount of the theft.

According to Troutman, the incident happened sometime throughout the day on Monday.

No suspects have been named at this time, because officers are still in the early stages of the investigation. Troutman said arrests would be forthcoming in the case.
