A Grayson County man was cited to court following a one-vehicle accident in Clarkson on Saturday evening.

21-year-old Michael L. Snell, of North Patterson Street in Clarkson, was travelling west on Elizabethtown Road in Clarkson when the wreck occurred at just after 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.

According to the accident report filed with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Snell reportedly lost control of the 1993 Chevrolet pickup he was driving while coming out of a curve. The vehicle spun around in the roadway before hitting a utility pole in the east-bound ditch line.

The utility pole, which belonged to Windstream, broke off at the ground, and Snell’s vehicle came to a rest in the east-bound ditch.

The vehicle was severely damaged on the right side, and Snell suffered possible head and face injuries. He was treated at the scene by Grayson County EMS and was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

The report states that Snell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of collision.

The responding officer also discovered that Snell had been operating the vehicle on a suspended operator’s license. Due to Snell’s injuries, he was not arrested at the time, but was ordered to appear in court on charges related to the wreck.
