A Magnolia man was arrested on Millerstown Road following a one-vehicle accident on Tuesday night.
According to an arrest report filed with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department, an officer was dispatched to Millerstown Road, approximately 9 miles east of the city of Clarkson at around 9:45 p.m. where a vehicle was stuck in a ditch beside the roadway.
Upon arriving, the officer found the operator of the blue 1998 Dodge, Antonio Souza, III, to have a “strong odor of alcohol on his person.” It was also noted that Souza was unsteady on his feet.
A field sobriety test was performed, which Souza failed. A PBT, or breathalyzer test, also showed positive for alcohol.
The report says that Souza admitted to having had a few beers to drink prior to getting behind the wheel. He also told the officer that he had smoked marijuana.
The officer stated that alcohol was in plain view inside of the vehicle.
Souza was arrested on location and taken to the Grayson County Detention Center.
