To the Editor:

With the Christmas season quickly approaching, the Leitchfield and Grayson County Tourism Commissions are ready to begin preparing for the holidays. For those of you who participated in the “Christmas in the Park/Light Up Leitchfield” event at James Beville City Park last year, we would like to thank you for your support and notify you that this event will be continued.

You are invited to participate in this exciting venture for our county. It is free to participate; just let us know as soon as possible so we can save your spot. Remember, your display does not have to be huge or expensive — creativity goes a long way.

For those of you who participated last year, you may have the same spot if you would like. If you want to pick a new spot or you are a new participant, we will begin that selection process Nov. 19. Please contact us to let us know when we can meet with you to select your location. If you would like, you can begin placing your displays as early as Nov. 19 (the Monday before Thanksgiving). All displays must be completed by Nov. 28.

We will have the “Light Up Leitchfield” ceremony at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. The Christmas in the Park displays will remain in place for the entire month of December.
