Kenneth R. Carby, 71, of Upton, passed away Saturday December 1, 2012 at his Residence in Upton.

He was a member of Center Point Missionary Baptist Church. He owned and operated his own heavy equipment company, and had previously worked for Hunt’s Tractor and Equipment Co. for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gracie Vinson Carby, his parents Charles and Nancy Allen Carby, and one brother Norman Carby.

He is survived by a son, Dennis (Tracy) Carby, of Cecilia; two daughters, Teresa Nobles, of Upton, and Jacqueline (David) Cecil; of Elizabethtown; a sister, Geraldene Priddy, of Sonora; two brothers, Ernest Carby, of Upton, and Larry Carby, of Alabaster, AL; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 3 p.m. EST at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church in White Mills, with Rev. Bethel Miller and Rev. Robert Jewell officiating. Burial will be at the Sonora Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Manakee Funeral Home in Upton.
