A 16-year-old girl is lucky to have escaped with just minor injuries after her vehicle rolled over during an accident Wednesday morning (June 28).

According to the Grayson County Sheriff's Department, a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor being driven by Cristina M. Majors was traveling north on Highway 185 (Bowling Green Road) when she reportedly looked down to get something.

After that, the Sheriff's Department reported, Majors' vehicle then ran off the right side of the road.

She then apparently lost control of her vehicle, crossed the roadway and went through some trees.

The vehicle overturned onto its side when it finally came to rest down an embankment.

It reportedly sustained moderate to severe damage as a result.

According to the Sheriff's Department, there was only a minor injury reported, and Majors was taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.

The accident occurred about five miles south of Caneyville.

And according to Trooper Steve Pavey with the Kentucky State Police, the KSP worked a second accident in the Caneyville area late Wednesday afternoon, about a quarter of a mile west of the city on U.S. 62 (Beaver Dam Road). At around 5:47 p.m., Pavey said, the KSP responded to a single-vehicle accident in which the vehicle had reportedly overturned. Only minor injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
