Grayson County Sheriff’s Department made one arrest after checking on a Pleasant Run Road home where they thought marijuana cultivation may have been underway.

Ricky Dennis was arrested and charged with cultivating marijuana, after Deputy Buck Meredith and Special Deputy Dave Colston, of the GCSD performed a “knock and talk” at his residence on Saturday, July 28.

The officers spoke with Dennis and performed a search of the property at 1035 Pleasant Run Road, which revealed 18 “healthy” marijuana plants.

According to Meredith, one of the largest plants was growing in a vegetable garden only ten yards from the roadway.

Deputy Kevin Newton and Constable Tim Saltsman were called to assist and the plants were seized.

Dennis was lodged briefly in the Grayson County Detention Center.
