Fires keep Leitchfield firefighters busy on Thursday evening.

The E-911 Center received a call reporting this garage at 1412 Brumfield Drive owned by Beckham Kersey at 5:21 p.m. Monday, January 4.
Leitchield Firefighter were called away from the garage fire on Brumfield Drive after a vehicle fire was reported.

Around 5:20 p.m. Thursday night firefighter responded to the structure fire of a garage belonging to Beckham Kersey at 1412 Brumfield Drive.

"The contents of the building were a total loss," said Second Fire Chief Tony King."But at the moment we are unsure of the cause."

While battling the structure fire a call was received by the E-911 Center at 5:56 p.m.reporting a vehicle fire.

Several firefighters left the garage on Brumfield to respond to the auto fire at 1486 Anetta Road. Firefighters found a small blaze in the front of the vehicle under the axle.

King reported the vehicle belonged to Dorothy Simms.

The firefighters quickly distinguished the vehicle fire and cleared the scene at 6:15 p.m.

The cause of that fire was also unknown.

Firefighters returned to the fire house after clearing the garage fire at 6:31 p.m.
