Christine Newton Black, age 65, of Leitchfield, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012, at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.

She was born on October 21, 1946, in Leitchfield, the daughter of the late Harlan Ray Newton and Nora Mae Logsdon Mercer.

She was a retired sales clerk.

She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Young (Bobby), of Caneyvill;, two sons, Derick Black (Christina), of Louisville, and Scotty Black, of Leitchfield; her mother, Nora Mae Merce,r of Leitchfield; one brother, Murel Newton, and one sister, Martina Cockriel, both of Leitchfield; five grandchildren, Christopher Woosley, Devan, Ciara, Mary and Kaylee Black, and a great-granson, Levi Woosley.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harlan Ray Newton and one brother.

Funeral services were held. Thursday, August 16, 2012. at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, with burial in the New Freedom Cemetery.
