Police continue to investigate a burglary of construction materials totaling approximately $6000 that occurred sometime last weekend.
According to Leitchfield Police Detective Kevin Smith, the perpetrator(s) appeared to have gained access to a storage facility located at the construction site located at East Carroll Gibson Boulevard.
Some of the items removed were construction materials that included copper and other building materials as well as tools, said Smith.
In an unrelated incident, police responded to a complaint, Thursday January 18 around 5 p.m.
The complainant described a subject waving a hatchet and acting in a suspicious manner, reported Smith.
Officers made contact with the subject on Elizabethtown Rd after a foot chase. Brian D. Lee, 34, of Leitchfield was arrested and charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance, disorderly conduct, and fleeing or evading police second-degree (on foot).
