Local law enforcement is currently facing a rash of thefts across the county.

According to Grayson County Sheriff Rick Clemons, a wide variety of items have recently been stolen from county residences.

“It’s really out of hand,” said Clemons.

In one instance, a four-wheeler was stolen on Salt River Road and later recovered in Breckinridge County at 3 a.m. on Thursday, July 3.

This case is still under investigation with Lead Officer Joey Beasley, of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, handling the investigation.

The GCSO currently has a number of suspects in this case, but no arrests have yet been made.

“Thefts remain high in Grayson County,” Clemons said. “We’re asking that if any item is likely to be stolen, please, please, pay attention to what you have sitting out. Put it up, chain it down under security light.”

Thieves are becoming “extremely brazen,” however, according to Clemons.

In another case, a trailer that was chained down next to a residence was stolen while the family was sleeping inside the house.

In addition, the GCSO and Kentucky State Police are investigating a number of break-ins at residences in the Eveleigh Road area.

Individuals with information relating to any of the aforementioned crimes are encouraged to contact the GCSO by phone at 270-259-3024 or the GCSO’s anonymous tip line at 270-200-2222.
